The SLOY series challenges traditional methods and reimagines classic mastery, such as the scratching of plaster, offering a contemporary, reversed take on the ancient sgraffito technique. Through a self-taught process of working with lime plaster and lime wash, each piece explores the delicate balance between intention and the randomness of the human hand.
Intricate patterns emerge from this interplay, reflecting both determination and human influence within sediment-like structures. SLOY transforms functional objects into tactile experiences, blurring the boundaries between sculpture and utility, nature and human artifact. By inviting a deeper sensory connection with the viewer, the series fosters an immersive dialogue between art and functional object.
